THE MCT SYSTEM

A considered next step
for your clinic.

MCT adds a photothermal conditioning stage to an already prepared autologous sample. The Unit delivers the selected protocol; the Kit holds the preparation throughout the process.

01 / PREPARE

The starting point is autologous.

A blood sample is collected and PRP prepared using the clinic’s appropriate collection and separation system. This takes place before MCT conditioning.

OPTIONAL ADD-ON · MCT EXOSOMES

Exo-Tech: Combining MCT Exosomes
with an Autologous Plasma Gel

A further dimension to the Exosomes workflow, bringing the patient’s own plasma gel and conditioned PRP together.

Exo-Tech Dry Bath with plasma preparation syringesExo-Tech Dry BathOptional equipment for plasma gel preparation

TWO COMPONENTS. ONE AUTOLOGOUS APPROACH.

Biological signals.
A plasma gel scaffold.

The Exo-Tech Dry Bath prepares a protein-based plasma gel from platelet-poor plasma. MCT conditions PRP from the same blood draw using the Exosomes preset.

The preparations are then combined into an autologous matrix, bringing the gel’s structural properties together with platelet-derived vesicles and other PRP components.

The scientific rationale draws on studies of MCT Exosomes, plasma gel and related delivery systems. Evidence for these components should be distinguished from evidence for the combined Exo-Tech preparation. Explore the manufacturer’s overview ↗

Clinical study2026

Facial rejuvenation: a split-face comparison

Scientific Reports · MCT research

A randomised study of 28 participants compared MCT-conditioned PRP with standard PRP. Selected periorbital wrinkle measures favoured the MCT preparation; changes in pigmentation, redness and skin biomechanics were similar between treatments.

Study details & context

Efficacy and safety of photothermal biomodulated platelet-rich plasma versus standard platelet-rich plasma for facial rejuvenation: a prospective split-face randomized study

Small, single-centre study, predominantly women. The trial was retrospectively registered. It did not measure exosomes or growth factors. Mild bruising and itching occurred. MCT provided kits, publication funding and writing assistance; effects beyond the six-month follow-up were not established.

Characterising platelet-derived vesicles

Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology · MCT research

A laboratory study of samples from three donors examined extracellular vesicles after blue-light conditioning of PRP, comparing two fluences under controlled temperature conditions.

Study details & context

Autologous platelet-rich plasma exosome quantification after two thermo-photobiomodulation protocols with different fluences

Three biological donors with triplicate technical measurements, no untreated control, and no clinical or functional outcomes. Particle counts depend on preparation and measurement methods and do not establish a guaranteed patient dose or that every measured particle is an exosome. Manufacturer-supported research.

Clinical study2023

Photothermally conditioned PRP for skin quality

Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology · MCT research

A 45-participant pilot explored MCT-conditioned PRP for facial rejuvenation, reporting favourable patient and clinician assessments. It used historical treatment comparisons, with no concurrent randomised control.

Study details & context

Efficacy and safety of photothermal-bioactivated platelet-rich plasma for facial rejuvenation

Subjective assessments with no concurrent randomised control; historical treatment comparisons cannot establish superiority. Eleven participants reported non-serious adverse events or discomfort. The red-light/cooling protocol differs from later Exosomes-preset studies.

A PRACTICAL PERSPECTIVE

Your questions,

Have a more specific question?
Let’s discuss it.

Contact our team
What does MCT add to a PRP workflow?

MCT adds controlled light and temperature conditioning after the PRP has been prepared. Different presets use different conditions to influence platelet activity and biological signalling. Blood collection and separation take place separately.

What is autologous about MCT Exosomes?

The starting material comes from the patient’s own blood. The Exosomes preset promotes release of platelet-derived extracellular vesicles within that patient’s PRP. The final preparation retains other PRP components alongside the vesicles.

Is Exo-Tech a fourth MCT preset?

The MCT presets are PRP, Cells and Exosomes. Exo-Tech is an optional addition to the Exosomes workflow. Its separate Dry Bath prepares an autologous plasma gel that can be combined with MCT-conditioned PRP.

What is the difference between the Unit and the Kit?

The MCT Unit is the reusable equipment that delivers the selected protocol. The MCT Kit is the single-use cassette holding up to 10 mL of preparation during conditioning. A fresh Kit is used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
